Life Elevated Through Daily Essential Nutrients
Stress, especially chronic stress has been found to damage parts of the brain.
The prefrontal cortex and the hippocampus are particularly sensitive to the hormones created by stress, like cortisol.
Research has found that chronic stress can shrink brain cells and damage connections between the branches, with some even disappearing. You'll notice problems with controlling your emotions, memory, planning, and making decisions.
The Daily Essential Nutrients Formula was designed to help the brain with these problems.
Three qualities really make this supplement stand out. Daily Essential Nutrients is
Complete: Every single vitamin and mineral shown to be essential for human health is included at safe, clinical levels.
Bioavailable: The particle sizes of the nutrients in DEN are ultra-absorbable, so that nutrient delivery is maximized.
Balanced: Each ingredient is balanced to the others in an optimal way, to avoid creating nutrient imbalances.
With fast results, too. One person shared, "I noticed it, personally in a week.”
The ability to better handle difficult situations is a recurring theme in the feedback.
"I feel like a new person. Not as moody at all, way more leveled out, way more relaxed. It’s been a blessing.”
“I just generally feel more balanced and when you’re feeling more balanced, your outlook is going to tend to be more positive.”
Below are just some of the many research examples that has been done, showing that micronutrients have a powerful effect on stress and trauma.
Micronutrients Help Mosque Massacre Survivors
In March 2019, a gunman entered two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, killing 51 people and injuring 40 people. The whole community was affected not just those who witnessed the brutality or lost loved ones.
In response to this traumatic event, micronutrient researchers in the Mental Health and Nutrition Research Laboratory at the University of Canterbury hoped to apply the results they had learned from previous studies to help the survivors of the mosque shooting tragedy.
Senior university students reached out in a culturally appropriate way to members of the affected community and invited them to take a specialized nutritional formulation, Hardy Nutritionals® Optimal Balance®, which is similar to the specialized formulations used in the studies.
Before taking micronutrients, the psychological scores of 75% of the massacre victims pointed to “probable post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).” After treatment, probable PTSD rates dropped to 17%.
Most of the participants experienced large reductions in depression, anxiety, and stress: 58% self-reported feeling “much improved” or “very much improved”. Many of them also enjoyed improved sleep, improved irritability, and higher energy after taking the micronutrients.
Micronutrient formulation reduces depression, anxiety, and stress in 17 earthquake survivors with ADHD.
A 7.1-magnitude earthquake in Christchurch, New Zealand created a natural experiment for measuring the protective effects of a micronutrient formulation co-developed† by Hardy Nutritionals® founder David Hardy on mood, anxiety and stress.
Prior to the earthquake, researchers had assessed mood, anxiety and stress levels in a group of 33 adults diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and they chose to repeat the same measures after the earthquake. Scores showed that the 16 participants taking micronutrients were more resilient to the effects of the earthquake than the 17 individuals not taking any supplement. This effect was particularly marked for depression scores.
A randomized trial of nutrient supplements to minimize psychological stress after a natural disaster
After devastating flooding in southern Alberta in June 2013, we attempted to replicate a New Zealand randomized trial that showed that micronutrient (minerals, vitamins) consumption after the earthquakes of 2010-11 resulted in improved mental health.
Residents of southern Alberta were invited to participate in a study on the potential benefit of nutrient supplements following a natural disaster. Fifty-six adults aged 23-66 were randomized to receive a single nutrient (vitamin D, n=17), a few-nutrients formula (B-Complex, n=21), or a broad-spectrum mineral/vitamin formula (BSMV, n=18). Self-reported changes in depression, anxiety and stress were monitored for six weeks.
Although all groups showed substantial decreases on all measures, those consuming the B-Complex and the BSMV formulas showed significantly greater improvement in stress and anxiety compared with those consuming the single nutrient, with large effect sizes (Cohen's d range 0.76-1.08). There were no group differences between those consuming the B-Complex and BSMV. The use of nutrient formulas with multiple minerals and/or vitamins to minimize stress associated with natural disasters is now supported by three studies. Further research should be carried out to evaluate the potential population benefit that might accrue if such formulas were distributed as a post-disaster public health measure.
